The Literary Club is a platform where creative minds get a chance to express their thoughts and feelings. It offers a plethora of opportunities for students to enhance their extra-curricular skills.
Objectives

To develop critical and analytical thinking

to hone up the literary sensibilities and competencies of the students

Helps to prepare students to work in a global community by teaching them about social, political and moral issues.

The Literary Club has been in functioning in our college for many years, plays a crucial role in developing an ingenious flair among students. It is formed by one teaching faculty as its coordinator, a student representative as secretary and others as its members. Over the years, the club has been covering many programmes like speech and writing competitions, literary quizzes, commemorate major literary figures etc. All students are motivated to participate in various programmes and their full-fledged participation is the highlight of this club.
Activity Report of Literary Club 2014-2015
The college has an active literary club which is under the charge the faculty of English Department. The club primarily conducted literary competitions for its members at college level.
The club has organized an essay competition on contemporary issues in collaboration with Satya sai seva organization of Trivandrum district. A large number of students have enthusiastically participated in the programme. Cash awards and mementoes were awarded to the winners. The club has conducted meetings to commemorate the demise of the literary giants in the Regional and World literature.

The college has an active literary club which is under the charge of the faculty of English Department.
The club initiated its activities for the year by conducting a drawing competition for students on World Environment Day. Quiz competitions were held on Onam and Christmas which enhanced the students’ knowledge on these festivals. Short story and Poetry Writing competitions were also organized by the club. Independence Day was celebrated by the club organizing patriotic song competitions also All the members and other students of the college enthusiastically participated in the programmes conducted by the club.

A meeting was held to select the student co-ordinators, and after inviting suggestions from the student members, the Convenor roughly drafted a plan of activities for the Club for the year 2016-17.

The club also acted as a screening platform to spot and select the students with literary and artistic talents for participating in the University Youth Festival.
LITERARY CLUB (SAHITYA SAMAJAM)
2019-2020
The official inauguration of literary club(sahitya samajam) 2019-20 was held on October 16,2019.The function was inaugurated by Mr.K.V.Mohanakumar IAS. Mr.B.Murali and V.Shinilal, Special guests of the day, delivered lectures on current literary trends.

The Club has organized various programmes to commemorate the renowned literary personalities such as Akkitham Achuthan Namboothiri, Sugathakumari and Vayalar Ramavarma.
Sahitya Samajam has also organized a ‘book release’(Anantharam) event on November 2019.
Sahithya Samajam and N.S.S Unit have jointly organized a programme titled “Kavithayude Pakal” on December21,2019.
The Club has also conducted ‘Prof.M.N.Vijayan Memorial Speech Competition’ on February 24,2020.Cash prices and mementoes are awarded to the winners.
Open library facilities have been started in Govt.hospitals of Attingal under the auspices of Sahitya Samajam. Members of the literary Club have contributed books to the library.

On December 29,2020, Literary Club has conducted a meeting via google meet to discuss the future plans of the club. A Book Review Competition has been conducted on February 24,2021 to promote the reading habits among students.
