The Department of Economics, one of the major departments of our college, has a long and illustrious history. BA Economics was introduced in 1978 and MA Economics in 1993-94. It was elevated to the status of a Research Department in 2010. There are 8 faculty members and about 180 graduate and post graduate students in the department. The department has an extensive library with a collection of about 2000 books and journals.
